The Teacher's Teacher

Master Ken Corona has been teaching martial arts since 1971. Over more than five decades as an instructor and school owner, he has taught thousands of students and awarded over 100 black belts.

Many of his students have become instructors themselves and gone on to open schools of their own. He is, in the truest sense, a teacher's teacher — a master whose work is measured not only by his own skill, but by the skill of those he has shaped.

The Lineage

Master Corona's studies include Judo, Aikido, and Jujitsu under the direct tutelage of Tsuneji “Tony” Sakakibara, a graduate of Japan's International Kodokan training center, as well as Sensei Robert Corrella.

He studied Hwa Rang Do under Grandmaster Dr. Joo Bang Lee, the art's founder. After an extensive full-time apprenticeship, he became one of the first Americans to receive the Master Instructor level in Hwa Rang Do.

Bring Karate Kids AZ to your school.

Karate Kids AZ is a school-sponsored martial arts program that brings Master Corona directly to your campus. Students learn the foundational skills of traditional martial arts — focus, discipline, respect, and confidence — in a structured, age-appropriate format designed to fit within the school day or after-school programming.

The same instructor trusted by Arizona law enforcement and U.S. military units teaches your students — with the patience, structure, and authenticity that only comes from more than five decades in the art.

What students learn.

Each session emphasizes the values schools care most about: focus, self-control, respect for self and others, and the quiet confidence that comes from real skill. Physical technique is the vehicle; character is the destination.

Students learn stances, blocks, basic strikes, falling safely, partner drills, and the courtesies that make a class run — how to bow, how to listen, how to encourage a classmate. The result is a class schools can be proud to host, and that students remember long after the last belt is tied.

Service area and partner schools to be confirmed with Master Corona.
